Scope of Work
Health economics and health services research and development
- We carry out and participate in fact finding missions, health reviews, -assessments and -analysis of health service interventions and organisations
- We develop general approaches for specific achievements, for example the development of the Rapid Costing Approach (RCA) for HIV/AIDS Strategic Plans
- We facilitate and coordinate meetings and policy discussions
- We develop background material for policy decisions and formulation of policy strategies for donors and NGOs
- We apply district health planning approaches to local needs and circumstances
- We develop teaching material and coach teaching in health economics (costing, cost-effectiveness, disease burden studies, financing, performance- and outcome indicators)
- We assist countries in developing applications for the Global Fund for fighting AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria
- We assist governments, national institutions and NGOs in developing sustainable implementation strategies
- We carry out and participate in operational research
Working principles
- We dissiminate experiences through peer reviewed articles and publications
- We participate in international consultations and conferences
- We organise participatory process oriented approaches in cooperation with local counterparts when feasible
- We work disciplinary (health economics, anthropology and epidemiology) and interdisciplinary (health/HIV services analysis, multi-sectoral analysis and planning)
- We network and cooperate with colleagues and institutions in Africa, Asia, Europe and CIS countries
